Omega's Next Honorary Member
 

Professional Golf Association player Lee Elder will become Omega Psi Phi's next honorary member at the Celebrity Weekend event in June. Source: Omega Bulletin Winter 2004(www.oppf.org).

Mr. Elder won 12 PGA TOUR and PGA Senior tour victories. He played in the Ryder Cup and the Masters during the 1970's.

Lee Elder is being made an honorary because he is a major contributor and fund-raiser for the Fraternity. He has been interested in becoming a member for quite a while but was not able to because he is not a college graduate. He is being rewarded with membership due to his support of Omega and her causes, not because he has a "name".

PGA golfer Lee Elder became a honorary member during the Grand Conclave, along with Dr. Charles Alexander(but I don't know who he is).

Unless he has a wicked tan in the photo from the above linked story, I'd have to say no. ;)

Congratulations to Omega Psi Phi and to Mr. Elder on the double honor of his membership - it's an honor for Omega, and it's an honor for Mr. Elder.

Were you instead asking about Dr. Charles Alexander?
