Check this out:

divorce settlement

ztabchbum 03-03-2004 07:05 PM

STFU! If I could only have that amount of money for 1 DAY! I hate Hollywood!

dzandiloo 03-03-2004 07:18 PM

Her daughter is invited to approx. 2 birthday parties a month, and therefore she spends approx. $1,000.00 a month on birthday presents??? That's $500 each!!! I'm gonna have to invite this kid to my daughter's next birthday party.

KillarneyRose 03-03-2004 07:40 PM

Yikes, this is going to be unpopular but here goes! lol

Sure the settlement is ridiculously extravagant but then so is the lifestyle the Ritchies and their children lead. Why should the children's way of life be changed even one iota as a result of their parents' divorce? It's not their fault, right? It's bad enough they won't see their dad as much as they're used to, but to tell them they have to scale back on the things they've done their entire lives is cruel, IMO.

As for Diane...sure, Lionel Ritchie made that money, not her. However, if she had taken a fulltime outside job in 1984 when she and he met, she would have made a considerable amount of money in the 20 years since then. Or at least enough to suport herself. But I am assuming that it was a mutual decision on the part of the couple that she did not work outside the home and instead opted to run the house instead.

So now that they're dissolving the partnership; her having forfeited two decades of work time and used to a certain lifestyle, she's supposed to go rent a one bedroom apartment in Chino? (ok, I don't know anything about Chino, California, but I know it's where the kid on "The O.C." lived before his legal aid attorney took him in so I'm assuming it's not nice. If I've offended any Chinoans out ther, I apologize :) ) Think of it as a nice severance package! :)

Besides, I'm sure Lionel Ritchie can well afford the settlement ;)

Peaches-n-Cream 03-03-2004 07:43 PM

Is this the ex Mrs. Ritchie who beat Lionel up? Maybe that was his other ex-wife.

Maybe I should be the next future ex Mrs. Lionel Ritchie. At least I could have a few shopping sprees. ;)

I wish I had $300,000 a year.

DZGirl 03-03-2004 07:43 PM

Isn't she getting $300,000 a MONTH?!

"demand for at least $300,000 in monthly support payments"

So that would be $3.6 MILLION A YEAR! HOLY SHIT that's a lot of money - and she doesn't have to do anything for it! (No work/job)

Rudey 03-03-2004 08:17 PM

LOL What just would she have gotten? And alimony and child support are different no?

Lesson #1:

If you have a LOT of money, don't live in a community property state (like California).

Lesson #2:

If you have to live in a community property state, get your beloved to sign a prenuptial agreement or don't marry them!

Lesson #3:

If you ignore Lessons #1 and 2, you deserve what you get! Mr. Richie is screwed.

No,this woman is the reason that his first ex wife beat him up.Which ex is Nicole's mom?

HBADPi 03-03-2004 09:00 PM

$1000 dollars a month for laser hair removal???

What I want to know is how much hair does this woman have? Scarey thought...

SoCalGirl 03-03-2004 09:48 PM

Nicole is his adopted daughter/niece. Nicole's real daddy is Lionel's brother.

33girl 03-03-2004 10:27 PM

Brenda is the Mrs. Ritchie w/ the wicked left hook.

All I can say is Lionel must be quite the investment genius to STILL be living like this because it's been a hella long time since I heard him on the radio.

Lady Pi Phi 03-04-2004 01:00 PM

Didn't he have a song on the radio in 2000/2001? I remember waking up to it everymorning (thankyou magic 106 in Guelph...the only radio station I could get)
