it's funny - we were never forced. we could go at any time and have the designated librarian or chapter monitor (if one was there) sign us in and out. there were a couple of sororities though, where you HAD to study at the house at a specific time - these girls were infamous for their pledge 'education' program. i can see that becoming a problem. but there was no need to punish the entire community for one group's practices.
