March 3 is GIRLS' DAY.
 

It's something my family celebrates every year, and as I do on GC every year...I just wanted to wish my GC girls a HAPPY GIRLS DAY!

Hinamatsuri (Dolls' Festival) is held on March 3rd. Households with daughters set up a tiered platform covered with red felt and display on it dolls representing the emperor, empress, court ladies and attendants, dressed in the flamboyant robes of the Heian court. This festival was established to pray for the health and sound growth of their daughters.

Does this mean all women should be treated like princesses today????:p

I remember reading about this in a book called Little Plum and thinking it was such a neat celebration. They had drawings of the platform and how intricate everything was and I always wanted to recreate it.

Which reminds me, today is also my sister's birthday.

Though we all know that we should be treated like princesses every day...one day outta the year won't hurt, right?

Even at 24 I'm excited because I still get presents from my mom! :)

Today... yesterday... tomorrow..... all next week!! The answer is YES!
