just a correction.. Virginia Tech does not have AOPi...
Im not sure if we ever did either there has been many chapters that have come and gone over the years.. just in the four years I was there Phi Mu and Kappa Alpha Theta left.. but we also recolonized alpha chi omega and sigma kappa during that time.. |
Re: Greek Representation @ Big East Schools
Those are sororities and not "Greek life." In fact, Georgetown has an active AEPi chapter.

Since Rudith is so concerned about complete Greek represenation, Marquette has Sigma Phi Epsilon, Sigma Chi, Kappa Sigma, Triangle, and Sigma Phi Delta for fraternities. I have no idea who is and isn't currently recognized. There's also a professional engineering sorority, Alpha Omega Epsilon, which was founded here. We also have Delta Xi Phi, Sigma Lambda Beta, and the majority of the D9 orgs.

Temple is also in the Big East for football but they are getting the boot.

Orangestars: Thanks very much for putting together this list! I myself was very curious but things were too complicated between the different teams for basketball and football plus the fact of all those schools coming and going.
From your name I gather you go to Syracuse? I'm not too happy with Syracuse right now since they beat my Panthers a few days ago :( |

while numbers have been improving at tech. It just seems that everytime a new chapter comes another leaves the next year. I would just hate to see that happen to another chapter here.. ETA: a little history.. if you want to know.. here is a link.. its at the bottom.. so confusing since we were a cadet school.. it took years before greeks would be recognized on campus.. http://spec.lib.vt.edu/archives/data.../chap2/2_8.htm |

Only NPC
Those are only NPC GLOs at Rutgers....and you're missing Phi Sigma Sigma....
We also have RPHC that has all non-NPC/IFC GLOs. My sorority was actually founded at Rutgers so it is our Alpha Chapter.... |

"Schools that are leaving the Big East at the end of the school year
Miami - DG, TriDelt, DPhiE, ZTA, KKG, SDT Virginia Tech - ADPi, AOII, APhi, AXO, DG, TriDelt, DZ, ZTA, KD, KKG, PiPhi, SK, XO" AOII's Omega Chapter is at Miami and they are active! http://www.orgs.muohio.edu/aoii/ I guess that is the same Miami...not the one in Florida... AOII also has a chapter at South Florida, if this is the same South Florida...Gamma Theta Chapter http://www.aoiigammatheta.com/ |
Along with AOII, Phi Mu has an active chapter(Beta Eta) at Miami!

It definitely isn't MU Ohio, though. |
