New Chapter Webpage

Its been up for about a month or so - but with the craziness of winter term and rush - i hadn't gotten around to posting it. now i have lots of time to catch up since we are on "spring" break here (even tho its snowing!)

That's a really cool website Cathy. BTW, do you know if they used the template designed by Nationals? Or was this a template they came up with on their own? Just curioius. I know that Nationals has a template and I've heard they're pushing chapters to use it for some consistancy.

Good Job!

It is a great site, Cathy!

Amy, no that is not the National template. Here's one that is, though

I like the concept behind this, but I know a lot of people feel (and I know my alum chapter feels this way about the template Alum sites, too) that it doens't show enough individuality. The main page has the same pics of those same girls. They are not in EVERY chapter, so why are they on that chapter's site? It doesn't make much sense. Also, in the photo gallery, there is some glitch. The pics as thumbnails look fine, but when you click on them to make larger, they get all blurry and pixelly.

BTW, I'm not trying to complain! I think it's a fabulous concept by National and since it's not HTML based you don't need someone "in the know" to have a site. And I think any site is better than no site - especially during recruitment. But at the same time, I think if it's to be used as a marketing tool, it might need to be jazzed up a bit and have more room for personal chapter choices.

[/End novel!]

if you search Chi Omega on Google you can find a lot of really awesome chapter sites and that can give you some ideas. Ours is www.mercer.edu/chiomega and it just got updated, drop by and take a look.

holy cow check out the ice sculpture of the crest that the Furman chapter had, it is on their recruitment 2004 page. That's awesome!

Cathy, I really like your website! Were you active when Nancy was an advisor? She was also an Alpha Kappa advisor and we loved her! Unfortunately for our chapter she is now moving to FL, but we're excited for her!

Hey girls!
My chapter has just gotten our NEW website up and running in the last two days, and I was just curious what ya'll thought...any suggestions or input would be super appreciated!!

I think your site looks great! I wondered about the "first and finest" thing though, especially w/the 1970 date!? But then I figured you must have been the first NPC on campus in 1970? But I love all the pictures.

And I think I told you - your Financial advisor Kristin Merritt is my chapter sister. She was the outgoing Presisdent when I pledged. :)

Cardinal026 10-13-2004 11:39 PM

Our school is really new, we were originally a branch of the University of Virginia, so yes, we were the first NPC organization on campus. :) I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Kristen yet, seems like the only time we really see our advisors are meetings, and I rarely get a chance to talk to them then...plus I was a Rho Gamma during Formal Recruitment, so was yet another missed opportunity. Soon though! Thanks for responding though, we're still constantly changing it, this is all really new to us!

I forgot to post my chapter's new website! It's my alumnae site and I'm the one who figured out the national template so I did all the work myself. It's actually pretty easy, but I'm technologically inept, so I'm pretty proud of myself!
