advice on getting financially expelled
 

hi all.

i don't know if i'm allowed to post here, but I was initiated fall of 2001 at drury university, mu chapter, and was financially expelled in december of 2003.

in january of '03 i was diagnosed with depression and wasn't able to pay my dues since i wasn't able to work and my parents told me zeta was my own responsibilty. i am just now getting better and able to hold down a job. i did however pay off half of what i owed and was expelled since i still owed the other half. i am planning on going back to school (YaY!!! i can't wait!) in august and i would love to be a member again!

i guess what i am asking is if anyone has any advice for me on how to go about trying to regain my membership.

To the best of my knowledge, you will have to pay off the remaining money that you owe to your chapter, then pay your dues on time from here on out.

You may have to fill out some paperwork to petition National Council to be able to rejoin your chapter, I'm not sure.

Call you General Advisor and speak to her as well. Also talk to your chapter president and tell her your situation - matter of fact, I would make sure all of EC knows what's going on. I wish you the VERY best of luck with all of this and keep is informed on what's going on. :)

I think that's correct. One of my good friends had to leave ZTA during her sophomore year due to financial problems. She was told that in order to come back she would have to pay dues for all the time she was away from the chapter.

Paying what you owe is correct, plus you will have to submit a letter to National Council requesting reinstatement. They will be meeting again in June. Good luck!
