Hilton Head Island, SC
Hey ladies,
This is where I'm going for Spring Break in a few days. Anyone got advice on where I should go and what I should do? We'll be staying at Marriott's Barony Beach Resort. |
My mothers entire family side reside in SC and the majority of them reside on Hilton Head island. Now don't laugh at me when i say this because there are a few of you who know me well enough on here who know i am going to say stay ar the disney resport you'll like it.
I have not been there since i was a kid and use to spend summers there. Either way and either place you pick youll have a blast!:D |
We totally tried to go there, but it didn't have any of the large 10-person villas available anymore. I think we should have just said we wanted a 6-person one or something and told people to sleep on the floor. :p

I will ask my fiancee, but hilton head is awesome! I love it. There are some great restaurants, like Salty Dog, everyone wears the t shirts from there. Drink some of the Charleston Brews (if you like beer or drink) and sing a FUN alpha phi song for me!!!!

if you get time, go up Charleston.....its about a 90 minute drive but it has (seriously!) the BEST shopping.....plus the city is really pretty and there's some pretty cool stuff there.....i just got back a couple of days ago. (i want to move there soooo badly)
directions: from hilton head, you need to get on 17 North and take to Charleston......just follow the signs for downtown Charleston and you'll go over this HUGE bridge (just dont have a panic attack like i always do when i go over it) and follow the signs to Meeting Street. Then take a right on Calhoun and you'll be at King Street....where all the shops and food are. also the houses on East Bay are beautiful and you can't for get the Market on Market Street! |
We had a great time! We went horseback riding, deep sea fishing (and all we caught was one 5-inch sea perch! D'oh!), shopping, mini golfing, and sight-seeing. We also played some tennis and walked on the beach and rescued Sand Dollars (my little sister is a Marine Bio major, so she freaked anytime she saw one out of water and made my boyfriend throw it back in), and I collected a few shells.
The only thing that sucked was the single guys that went with royally pissed me off. The new rules for vacationing with us are that you have to not be lazy, not be whiny, and actually have money to go do things. Grr. As for Charleston, I'm heading there in July. My roommate is getting married and I'm in the wedding! |
AWWW sounds like so much fun! I am royally jealous.
We had the same kind of problem in Vegas with the people we went with. Its wasnt as bad as yours seems. Its just hard to travel with people who have different life styles. I would be darn proud of that 5 inch perch. |
