I will be seeing this opening day, after seeing the Passion, I think this is the only movie I am excited about seeing right now, well maybe Hidalgo, it will be a fun movie. But I think that Alamo is coming out on the anniversary of the Alamo battle... I am not sure, I could check, but I am lazy. I want to go to the Alamo one day... I have always liked the idea of Texas, but have only been to Houston and Austin... (which are awesome)

Hidalgo's about a half-white, half-Lakota horseman from South Dakota who competes in a horse race across the sahara i think. It says it's based on a true story, and while the main character was indeed a real person, whether or not the race actually ocurred is up in the air. If you've never been to San Antonio you really need to go. See the Alamo and the missions. Try to get down for Fiesta in the spring. Also, if you can make it over towards Washington-on-the-Brazos near Brenham, Texas, you can see where i believe the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed and get more of the story. According to IMDB.com, the movie will be released April 9th. the actual seige of the Alamo began on March 6th. April 21st is San Jacinto day, the day the Texan army defeated Santa Ana and Sam Houston spared his life. April 21st is also special for Aggies, as its Muster. Kitso KS 361 |
Don't forget also that the first Saturday closest to Alamo Day (March 6) is when they have a big Masonic processional and wreath-laying at The Alamo. (It's the weekend of the official visit by the Grand Master of Masons in Texas where he gives a 'state of the fraternity' address to the brethren in the local area.)

Ohh I have seen the trailers for both of these now, and they look nice... I will be seeing both of them for sure. Have any of you seen the trailer (it is a fake) for The Hobbit? I cannot remember the site, for I saw it at a friends house... It is great though, too bad it isn't real...
I do not really care if the Hidalgo story is 100% true, I guess some people do though, it will still be a good film... |
Bump... Kitso, you will love it...
I won tickets to see a screening this week... saw it last night. SOOO much better than I was expecting. Kitso, since I know you are a Texan, there is a speech given by William Barret Travis that will bring tears to your eyes...
Entertaining Film IMO... |
Our wonderful Fort Worth movie critic HATED IT! And since I almost always disagree with him, I'm gonna go see it!!!
