Alum initiation

How open is DZ to alum initiation? I know there are some sororities who talk it up and some that don't do it at all. I'm thinking about AI, is there anything specific that DZs require of alums? I've never been in a NPC sorority, and I don't know any DZs. Any help you can give will be appreciated!

I personally have always been a huge advocate of AI. But I was exposed to it very early on--I was initiated into a collegiate chapter that was young, and all but 1 of the members of our local alum chapter were AIs from when we chartered. I think it's a great way to continue to reach out to outstanding women who were unable to become DZs during their collegiate years for a number of reasons.

I do know that some chapters in some areas of the country are not well-informed about AI, and some are resistant, but I think that the opinion is changing, and our national council is all for it.

You can find out about the alums in your area by e-mailing/calling our national headquarters (contact info on the web-site www.deltazeta.org).

Feel free to PM me if you have any other specific questions. Good luck in your quest!

I know DZ does Alumnae Initiation. As dzandiloo said, contact National Headquarters for the specifics, because I'm not sure either.

You might be surprised to know that we've been doing AI for a long time. Back in 1978, my chapter initiated the mother of a graduated sister. It was quite exciting because not only was it my first ritual since being initiated, but we also had a national officer present.
