Topless decks on cruise ships???

so i'm looking at info on the web about the cruise i'm going on in a week and a half, and I found out that my boat has a topless deck?

Anyone been on a boat with a topless deck? Care to share some details about it? Is it big, do a lot of people use it? just seems odd to me!

PSA: Please don't use a topless deck if you lack the body for it, there have been several heart attacks from both sexes from the shock.

Topless deck?!? YGBSM! On what ship? (packs his bags and makes a beeline to the port) :) ;) :D

Carnival Sensation.....

I guess this is pretty common, although my parents' ship on the Royal Caribbean line didn't have one.

I mean you don't have to take your tops off, and the view is generally less than impressive.

There was no topless deck on the cruise I just took. Thank goodness since I really wouldn't want to see those people running to the buffet line topless! YUCK! :p

I've been on a cruise with a topless deck. It's just the absolute top deck of the boat and tops are optional. No biggie. I didn't go up there because I was 13 and I really don't have a desire to tan my boobies. :p

honeychile 02-24-2004 12:50 AM

<---- Please listen to the voice of someone who has survived skin cancer!!! A topless deck may sound interesting, but unless you've slathered yourself with enough skin screen to not even bother with tanning, please don't do it!

Besides, a tan at 20 will age you 20 years when you're 40.

kddani - how funny! We'll be on the same cruise. We're leaving on March 6th. Is that when you're going?

I totally missed this info. I told hubby and he just gave me a look. I was like, "What? I'm not going to be out there topless...that would mean you'd get to be up there looking at all the other topless women!"

Betarulz! 02-24-2004 01:14 AM

Yeah the topless deck is pretty overrated...saw that on the last cruise I went on.

It's just the very top deck, and it's inhabited by the same types of personalities that if they were male they'd be sporting the speedo no matter what their weight was.

Really though it's no big deal, although I'd like to see it on spring break when you've got younger people going - particularly on a notoriously younger line like Carnival.

I went on the Carnival somethingoranother that left out of NOLA in 2001. I heard it had a topless deck. I didn't discover it until the last night of the cruise.

We went up there to see the ship as it entered the Mississippi river from the gulf. That was pretty cool.

Is this ship leaving out of NOLA? FI and I are taking the Conquest for our honeymoon in May
