I think this movie is going to stink. Dirty Dancing is my favorite movie ever and I dreaded the day this movie would be made.

The only good part is that Sela Ward - Chi Omega - is in it! :cool:

does anyone else think it's strange that patrick swayze has a cameo using the same character, even though this movie is supposed to take place like 10 years earlier? anyways, i'll probably wait until it's out on video if i even see it at all. dirty dancing is one of my favorite movies and i feel this version is going to be horrible...

Blech. Complete and utter TRAVESTY. I refuse to watch.

The only reason why I MIGHT see it is because I was too young to see the original in the theatres. I've practically worn out my tape of the movie though :)

I haven't talked to anyone who thinks this movie was a good idea. I believe I'll pass....

Yeah um so I was out with some of my girls last night and I made an executive decision for all of us to see Dirty Dancing: Havanna Nights. We ate and drank a little before we went in but our buzz wore off 30 minutes into the movie if that's ANY indication about how bad it was. I was told that I am no longer allowed to pick the movie ever again:( The only good acting in it came from Sela Ward and Patrick Swayze. Every scene is similar to every scene in the original Dirty Dancing...not worth the money:( Although I have some strange desire to learn how to dance like they were in the movie;)

maybe i will use it as a dance instruction video when it comes to the small screen... i have always wanted to learn to salsa.

A few of my sisters went to watch it and they all loved it.

I'm wondering if younger girls, who may not have seen the original movie, like it more than people older than, say, 22 (though anyone under 25 or 26 probably only saw this movie on video and on tv)?

i saw it.. went with friends who for some reason wanted to see it.. i had no interest..

i thought the acting was horrible.. and found it so cheesy when they would throw in lines from the original movie.. and when they would play a few chords from that "Ive had the time of my life song".. bad bad..

though i did like some of the music..
