All of that is great, but there is still the matter of the cover up of the black male body. The last letter that the President of Black Caucus received stated that not only could he have killed her several times, but that to prove that he meant business, he and his kind had already killed a "...black nigger buck. He put up a hellified fight..." The night she received the letter, Brian and I drove up from DC and joined in with the students and other concerned Black alum to demand that police search the area where the author of the letter claimed to have left the body of that black man. That night 6 Penn state TRAFFIC COPS were sent to search Mt. Nittany. However, that was Blue/White weekend and there were many PSU secret societies conducting their rituals on the same mountain. The police NEVER evacuated the crime scene, NEVER called for real police to come investigate, and called off the search that [b]SAME NIGHT[/], after they searced for a few hours, in the dark, in the rain. They said they never found the body. Exactly 1 week later, a body was found. The initial police reports and press statements said that the body had been dead 1-5 days, BUT was so decomposed that they could not determine the race of the body. They could however describe in great detail this man's tatoos. They could see them so clearly in fact that they could tell the tatoos were french words. We did our research and were told by the Penn STate police, and Local police in a public forum, that there has not been a murder of a Black man in Centre county in over 20 years "...IF EVER". Yet, the police and Penn state have said from the beginning that the body is IN NO WAY CONNECTED TO THE HATE LETTER!!! So even though the letter never said the person killed was a student or in any way connected to the university, the police have refused to allow for the fact that these letters (that the university tried to deny even existed) are related to that body to be an option in their investigation. We believe either the police/FBI/State Attorney General's office (all of whom are supposed to be investigating this) are either incompetent, or directly involved. And I along with many others, have talked personally to FBI agents, and the State Attorney general himself. Believe me, if you are reading this, then you know more about this case than they did. We found out that PSU police report directly to Mr. Sc----z, who is the chief financial officer for Penn STate. The night that the PSU traffic cops searched the mountain, if they DID find a body, the first person they would have to call, is not local authorities, rather it is the CFO of the university--dare we say conflict of interest??? Girl, that is only the tip of the iceberg, but I can't type anymore. Right now large groups of us are travelling the country to spread the word about this black man who lost his life because of the University's negligence. Hopefully, through public pressure, we can have someone investigate the investigators. The last thing we want is to have to wait 30 plus years for this thing to be resolved, like our people had to wait in the case of the church bombing that killed the four little black girls. Like I said, that is just the tip of the 'berg. [This message has been edited by 1 Woman of Virtue (edited June 05, 2001).] |
