pin on eBay?

Pardon the barge. . .
I was just browsing eBay and saw this interesting pin . I know very little about your jewelry, but thought someone here might be interested in it.

This is a strange pin. I am not sure it is an Alpha Phi pin. Does anyone know?

that's why I posted it here - I thought maybe you all would know if it's an old or special kind of Alpha Phi pin, or totally unrelated. I didn't want to assume it wasn't. Interesting!

Hello All!!

Before out national Pin was adopted women each selected thier own style after initiation. It is possible that this is one of those pins.

International does not promote selling these pins on E-bay. They are to either be returned to the EO after the sister enters the silent chapter or given to a loved daughter/granddaughter.

It makes me sad to see someone sell their pin on ebay, :( This is what binds us all together.

AOE Always,
Robin

This is not an Alpha Phi badge. Even before we had a national badge when our members had badges made the Alpha was superimposed over the Phi. This badge was listed several weeks ago and I confirmed with some people who are very knowledgeable about Alpha Phi history that this is not one of ours.

That's so interesting that this might be a badge that pre-dates the standardization of your badges - thanks for sharing that info.

It is sad to see GLO badges for sale on auction sites. I buy unusual Theta stuff for my own use occasionally (have yet to buy a badge), but I do try to research any identifiable Theta badges I see. (I would never buy another GLO's paraphernalia, though I know there are people who collect GLO items.)

From what I've found, a majority of the badge sales on eBay are from estate sales - heirs of members don't know a pin is in the jewelry box, don't know what it is, or don't know what to do with it, so it ends up for sale. However, I have found a few that have been stolen/missing, sadly. I don't think many are being sold by sisters.

I hope one of your lovely members got this interesting badge!
interfraternally,
Jane

I don't think you saw my post. This is not an Alpha Phi badge. I emailed the seller last time it was posted and explained that but the seller didn't care.

Whew...

Whatever this pin was, an Alpha Phi sister won it. Thank goodness!!!;)

sorry to crash your boards ladies, but I wanted to say what an interesting pin it is (even if it is not an official pin to Alpha Phi)

I'm glad that one of your sisters won the pin!
