I'm going to have to disagree, and say Mick Jagger. Or wait, maybe the dude who sang "Rock Around the Clock" the first time...that was the first rock song, so he's got to be the most rock & roll.

Does it have to be a performer? Because Bebe Buell was such a great rock & roll chick in her day. Her list of boyfriends reads like a Who's Who of Rock & Roll

No I meant Queens overall. Joey is the only one from Forrest Hills I think anyway.

Still Champion: Joey Ramone!

Andrew W.K.? Too contrived. If you have to try to be rock and roll, you're not.

Bob Seger? Some great music. Then he sold out with that drivle, ironically called, "Old Time Rock and Roll." If you sell out, you're not rock and roll.

Mick Jagger? He isn't even the most rock and roll in the Stones. And elderly musicians, touring to pay for their summer homes in the French Riviera, are not rock and roll. If Mr. Jagger had any self-respect as a rock and roll musician, he would have died by choking on vomit (his, or someone elses) before he became eligible to join the AARP.

Bebe Buell? Being a piece of ass doesn't make you rock and roll, it makes you eligible to date those who are. Also, she did a great job of raising Liv, and being a responsible parent is not rock and roll.

Hillary Duff? She's one syringe away from being in an underground video with those who who are rock and roll, but she would actually have to hang out with people who are that cool.

Pat Benatar? Under no circumstance can you be a classically trained opera singer and be rock and roll. "Diva" should never, ever be used in the same sentence with that sacred phrase. And that phrase is "rock and roll."

Led Zeppelin? Arya, good call. As a band, they miss it by virtue of incorporating other genres of music into rock and roll. I actually like Led Zeppelin more than the Ramones. If you select the most rock and roll member of Zep, you clearly are dealing with Jimmy Page. Now we have a real discussion. Who is more rock and roll? Joey Ramone or Jimmy Page? I think that Page has had more blood transfusions, lived in a castle formally owned by a satanic icon, and had over-the-top backstage escapades, in an effortless manor. Page could win, but he crossed the line, and couldn't just be rock and roll. He had wardrobe people, and that is a fatal sin. Joey Ramone probably didn't even know what a wardrobe was. Also, Jimmy Page may today be a member of AARP, and that just isn't very rock and roll. Joey Ramone, like Jimmy Page, should have been dead by age 30. Joey, unlike Jimmy, had the common decency to die before he turned 50. Joey still wins.

Ozzy Osbourne? Another good call, but no. If he died 20 years ago, maybe. There was a time when he didn't try to be outrageous, he just was. Now he tries. And he's old.

Still the most rock and roll of all time, until proven otherwise, the late, great Joey Ramone!!!

ETA Alex Haley may have been the first, but that's just when the lable entered our lexicon. I don't believed that he was ever wacked out on drugs while participating in a backstage orgy. Nor was he unable to remember that the next day.
