How Would You Feel???
Hey all,
I have a little question. How would you feel if some of your greeks dropped your sorority/fraternity and pledged a rival sorority/fraternity? Two of the girls that were my "sisters" dropped out and joined up with the sorority on campus that had been giving my sorority hell from the begining of time. Is that the biggest stab in the back or what? |
umm, it depends.
If they were still pledging, I'd be sad, but be glad they dropped before they initiated because it wasn't where they were meant to be. If they were initiated, I would kick their asses into the next county. :p |
They were sisters...they were founding sister of the sorority...we all were. Everyone was initiated and everything...they weren't pledges so its not like they didn't know how the othe sorority tried to like make our pressence on campus like not known. I am really steamed about it...Now God only knows what they are going to dish out

On my campus (and i thought this was an NPC rule), anyone that has pledged and been initiated into a NGLO can NOT pledge or be initiated into another one. Ever.
If they have pledged and accepted a bid but not initiated, they have to wait a year to pledge another. |
I think Delta Zeta Xi is a local?!?!
|
yeah, we're local. NPC will be comming to our campus next month(?) to have a look see at the interest groups. I dunno, Im just really ticked is all. They were like my really good friends too...I guess not. Anyways, all I can do is hope and hope for more girls. I had about three girls pledge. So it makes the sorority a HUGE four ladies...grrr... :)
|
How many left??
|
None, Im the only one! :) They all dropped after a really great meeting on Sunday, last Sunday was the meeting and they dropped on Monday. Four of 'em. There were like Nine founders when we started out, a bunch dropped due to school and work, then the other four just dropped and like two joined up with the Thetas...it looks really bad for me too. What if I don't get girls in? Girls are more attracted to large groups. This is like DXi's second semester on campus...they didn't want to organize the sorority they wanted something that was organzied already. The Theta's have been on campus for a year and some change...of course their s**t's gonna be together. Rome wasn't built in a day.

:) Thanks...its hard :) But I will stick to my guns :) Thanks people!

Wow, that certainly is a setback. But don't give up! You're right, Rome wasn't built in a day. Hang in there, and do all you can.
There are a LOT of wonderful ladies from local sororities that hang around GC. Check out the locals forum and see if they can help you. :) Some of them may have experienced the same thing. Keep us updated! *hugs* |
i don't have any ideas for now
but what about checking out npc when they visit your campus(if interested ladies are allowed to go to the meeting). being a member of an npc colony would give you back a little of what has been lost, and you would be a part of a national organization. when colonies are started from scratch a variety of women is the goal, i.e. they don't just go for freshman, they need some upperclasswomen for leadership and maturity.

You only have 4 members?
Honestly, I can't fault them if they went a larger group. A totally different type of experience. The reason that you join a GLO is to meet lots of people. If you only had that few people, you might not have been giving them this opportunity. How long have you been that small? |

Was/is DXi planning on going with a national? Are there any nationals on your campus or are they all locals? Were the other groups formed specifically for joining up with an NPC, or is this a new idea? How is DXi different from the other groups on campus?
I'm asking these questions to get a little more background info, but you may want to think about what DXi offers on campus. What niche do you fill? What would attract someone to DXi instead of Theta? (I'm guessing Theta is a local also....) PsychTau |
