¥ale Greek Life Article

I dont know if this has already been discussed.

Here is an interesting write up about Greek life at Yale.

Its somewhat anti-greek, but a little humorous...well...I found it to be a little amusing, but only becuase I know better.

I'm sure its dated though, but its a fun read if you have a few minutes.

Did the campus really thank the Thetas?

this has nothing to do with the article, but what is up w/ that freaky bar through the Y in Yale?

that article was kind of weird. I mean that person writing the article was basically passing judgements on each group. I thought it was kind of ridiculous saying that the Kappa's were generally considered less attractive than the Theta's and PiPhi's.

Yeah, I think the author was writing what they had observed first-hand.

You can't fault someone for their opinion.

I don't think anyone is going to take these group appraisals as any more than that.

Well thank God.. at least Sigma Nu made his list of 'elite fraternities'. I will now sleep better :D

LOL...I just caught that.

I have an IMAC and the keyboard is TINY.

I must have hit a button combination when hitting the "Y" key and the "freaky bar through the Y in Yale" popped up.

Yeah, the writer definitly took some liberties with "journalistic integrity".

I doubt this was printed in a mainstream paper though.

It's the symbol for yen.

Hold down alt, punch in 157 on your number pad then release alt.

I also found sigma on the table -- 228 Ó :D

I know different sororities have different "firsts" (for example I believe GPhiB was the first GLO to use "sorority") but how is Theta the nationa's first sorority?

This is misrepresented all the time, especially by non-Greek writers. Theta was the first Greek-letter fraternity for women (the first women's org to be founded from its very beginning as a Greek-letter fraternity). Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded just a few months later.

A few of the existing NPC groups (Alpha Delta Pi, Phi Mu, and Pi Beta Phi off the top of my head) were formed earlier as secret/literary societies and adopted Greek letter names later in their histories.

thanks for the info Janerz222 :)

I think it's so great how all our GLOs have unique histories and "firsts" :)

That was a weird article. But I agree with Rudey, I enjoyed the income portion.
