hope for those w/o APO credentials
I have read posts from others who were concerned about their status with the fraternity. Because of messy paperwork or poor organizational skills of chapter officers, many people who were active in APO chapters were never given their proper credentials (certificates and membership cards). After reading these posts, I started thinking "Hey, I never got any of that." Well, I finally looked into it, and I sent an e-mail out yesterday. Today, I got an e-mail back saying that if I just send my current mailing address, my credentials will be sent to me. Talk about service! I'm so pleased. If you are one of the people wondering, just ask HQ. They were so efficient and helpful.

I love positive APO stories! :-)
(Even if that didn't work, there are definitely ways to link up with a chapter and get recognized nationally as an honorary or advisor.) |
So if someone's paper work didn't get submitted nationally when they did APO in undergrad, can't their names just get submitted with the next pledge class?

Maybe so, but wouldn't you want to be included as part of YOUR pledge class? I would think there must be a way to include you as a member of a past class retroactively. Luckily, I didn't have to deal with that.
I would think that being included with the next pledge class could be problematic if you aren't enrolled in the college or univerisity. I thought that enrollment was required for membership unless you were being initiated as an honorary brother. I actually know nothing about this; I was just happy to learn that I was official!:) Erica |

This is why many have tried to make it very clear that chapters need to get their paperwork in, and its the responsibility of EVERY Brother to ensure this happens. No "its not my job" or the like. |
