There was actually an article in Jane Magazine which touched on this a few years ago. (one of the writers worked at a porn magazine, as a chatter on a porn website, and as an errand girl on a porn film for a day and wrote about the experiences.) The writer mentioned that one of the stars had to do two enemas in preparation for an anal scene. (which didn't end up getting shot that day) EWWW.

after all the medical prepping, get some makeup on that butt. out of curiosity, i looked at one of my bf's tapes. anal action was going on and it was not the most flatterning thing in the world. the butts were so pale and it just looked unattractive. if i have to see it, at least make it look semi good. :p
