Chi-O Cares week
 

Yup! Sigma Kappa chapter is having Chi-O cares week this week.. and I am a coach for SigEp! I am so excited!!!! I spent like.. two hours in the freezing cold to help them chalk-the-walk... but you know what?! It was fun and so worth it! THose guys are all about helping out Make-a-wish!

Anyway, tomorrow is our basket auction and I think we are going to get so much money to help out Make-A-Wish! yippee! I love Philanthropy weeks!

Sounds like fun. What exactly is Chi O Cares Week though? Is it something you all do for philanthropy? I remember we had to do stuff for Chi O Cares (the National's thing) which was concerning drugs and alcohol abuse.

Well, this week all our money goes towards Make-A-Wish and some of our local charities (crisis call line, Read Aloud, and one of our sister's HUGE campus wide food drive called APSU CANProvide- 14,000 cans of food).

Tonight is our basket auction (all IFC and whoever else wants to will be bidding on fabulous baskets with themes like comedy/pranks, movie night, junk food, etc.)

Wednesday is the LIP SYNC where fraternities will do a lil skit to show their support of Make-A-Wish, etc.... the admission will be two cans per person (to help out the APSU CANProvide food drive).

Then, On Thursday, we sponsor Mr. APSU where a contestant from each fraternity will compete in a sort of pagent... 2 dollar admission fee goes toward our philantropy.

Also, all throughout the week we will have penny wars!yippe!

Sounds awesome! I love Read Aloud...I was hoping that would be our national philanthropy (nothing against Make-A-Wish).

I know at my chapter, "Chi O Cares" was the big umbrella for all our philanthropies. We did a project called Chi O Reads, and visited classrooms to read stories to little kids. We also did Chi O All Stars, which was our softball tournament and the $$ went to Make a Wish.
