Bad Brother

Greetings all! I was initiated into the Mu Mu chapter. I transferred shortly thereafter but remained inactive :(. Is it possible for me to reactivate as an alumnus of the fraternity?? At the time, I was having some MAJOR problems and didn't even go inactive properly...don't know what to do but want the chance to get involved again.

I just suggest that you start with www.apo.org.

(20 million other people will come in with their own suggestions though.)

I don't know the "right" answer, but I'm really happy to hear that you want to get involved with the Fraternity again. Did you fully initiate or did you simply go through the pledge ritual? That will make some difference, but if you were fully initiated, getting involved as an alum shouldn't be a big problem :) I'm excited for you!

Once you leave school (and were initiated. did you get your card/certificate?), you are automatically an alumni.

If you want to get involved with the Fraternity as an alumni volunteer, contact your Section Chair &/or Regional Director. They can help you get involved. Also consider attending the upcoming National Volunteer Conference in August near the National Office. There is info at www.apo.org in the Events area.

If you go back to school after a period of time, though, can't you reactivate? I seem to remember some brothers in my chapter doing this...going alum after graduation, then coming back for a second bachelor's and reactivating.

Yes, you can do that. Little different from transfering to another school and joining the chapter there.

Brothers who are graduate students have two choices: be an active or be an advisor. Undergraduates can't be advisors, tho.

I pledged and was an active as a grad student.
