What's the best concert....
What's the best concert any of you have been to and who else have you seen in concert?? And who would you like to see alive or dead in concert? I'll start:
My favorite concert was last summer Dave Matthews Band in Atlanta. I've seen Creed (before they got big and then after), Nickelback, Bush, LeeAnn Womack, 3 Doors Down, The Calling, Tantric, Gary Allan, Live, Edwin McCain, and that's all I can think of.... Dave Matthews Band was by far the best, but if I could see anyone alive or dead in concert...I think I would pick Johnny Cash. He's before my time but I really like his music~ Please reply you guys--this will be interesting to see everybody's tastes! |
The best concert I ever saw was Pearl Jam in Ft. Lauderdale during their '96 tour.
I've seen so many bands in concert that I can't even remember. I'll try though: Paula Abdul, Seven Mary Three, Better Than Ezra, Live, Backstreet Boys, R Kelly, Blink182, Silverchair, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, U2, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Goldfinger, N'Sync, Lenny Kravitz, Baby Anne, Smashing Pumpkins, Sister Hazel, Sharaz, Rancid, Busta Rhymes, The Nixons, DJ Icey, Color Me Badd, Goldfinger, and so much more that I can't think of. I would've loved to have seen The Doors or The Beatles in concert but they were around before my time. |
Oh ZTAngel....Color Me Badd???
|
They were on tour with Paula Abdul back in '92. I was about 11 and I went to the concert with my father. We're thinking it's going to be a PG concert since we were going to see Paula. Nope. Color Me Badd starts singing "I Wanna Sex You Up". I was mortified.

OK now! I just had the longest list ever typed up and for some reason it was gone! Think I took too long typing it...oh well!
I'll just berak it down real quick like now. Favorite concert ever: The Eagels Concerts I've seen: this was the long list that disappeared so if you want to know just basically anyone who has been to Jubilee City Fest in Montgomery, AL or to Beale Street Music Fest in Memphis, TN...along with random people along the way. The list is long, distinguished, and diverse! Dead or Alive: *NSYNC...there is a story behind it too...everytime I've had tickets something has happened serious like and I haven't been able to go. Now Krissy I want you to know I racked my brain for you on this one! Took me about 20 minutes the first time before everything disappeared. |
okay, im bringing this thread back-- i know i will sound like a dork, but my all-time favorite band is hanson... ;) okay okay, you can laugh but i love them so much!! i met them once (like 5 years ago), and i about died!! i also love nsync and this new band called "natural" they have a website if you want to check it out.. its, www.naturalband.com they are awesome!! :p

You don't ever have to feel silly about the music you like...I LOVE music...I think it heals people--that probably sounds corny, but I do! I love all kinds of music especially just plain piano and etc. :D
|

Best concert ever: Bon Jovi in March 2003. My older sister and I cried. How bad is that? but the show was awesome.
Very close second: Paul McCartney in May 1993. Great show, and HELLO! he's one of the Beatles, so that was pretty amazing. Other shows I've been to: Fleetwood Mac, Eddie Money, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, Hootie & the Blowfish (they're from my hometown), Cravin' Melon, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, Alanis Morisette (another REALLY good show), Allman Brothers Band (also great), Moe., Widespread Panic, Guster, Leftover Salmon (can you tell I went through a jam band phase?), G-Love and Special Sauce, Jimmy Buffett, Goo Goo Dolls...and I think that's it, but I can't remember. Also lots of little no-name local bands along the way. I would love to see Better than Ezra, Phish (no longer together, alas), Grateful Dead (with Jerry Garcia, though), Rascal Flats, David Allen Coe, Montgomery Gentry, Ludicris, Outkast, and - how lame am I? - I would LOVE to see a show on the Clay Aiken/Kelly Clarkson tour.:D |
britney spears is going to be in concert near us this month..so as a sisterhood half the chapter is going to see her! should be fun!

Hey Dianne,
My mom has met Jimmy Buffet before. He's from the Mobile, AL area and his father I think still lives across the bay in Daphne or something. I LOVE Fleetwood Mac....especially Stevie Nicks....can't believe you got to see Paul McCartney...I would kinda like to see Billy Joel or Elton John if I could...that's a little weird, but it would be pretty cool. They are legends. I believe Dave Matthews will be a legend one day. He's such an accomplished musician. I'm glad this thread has come so alive. Everyone loves music! |
Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. My sister is 9 years older than me and she raised me on bands like RHCP, Jane's Addiction, U2, The Cure, B-52's, etc. Back in the day when people had talent!!!
|
Here! Here! I totally second that comment. I am soooooo over the "punk" (which is really just the latest pop) sound that is so big right now. Unimaginative guitar chords. Lyrics I could've written in the 5th grade....and if I hear "Stacy's Mom Has Got It Going On" one more time, I'm going to lose it!

Agree!
My sister is in love with Dashboard Confessionals. Whenever we both go home for the weekend, I have to listen to her blast it from the stereo in her room. Blah. The lead singer sounds like he's in pain. whine, whine, whine. |
Best Concert: It's a toss up between A Perfect Circle and Tori Amos in Oct '98
Other bands I've seen: Smashing Pumpkins (July '96), Weezer (sept '02), Hot Rod Circuit and the Get Up Kids (may '02), the Dixie Chicks (Aug. '01) I've also been to HFStival a couple of times. One of our local radio stations, WHFS, has a really gig concert every year with like, 15 bands and 3 stages some of the bigger names I have seen there: Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Green Day, The Cardigans, Live, Incubus, Tenacious D, Beastie Boys, The Verve Pipe, Good Charlotte, Third Eye Blind, etc. I've also seen Everlast, Cake, Soul Coughing, Garbage, and Hole together, plus a lot of other local bands |
