2004 MGCA Conference - Chicago
Will any other Greek Chatters be attending the 2004 Mid-American Greek Association - Conference in Chicago, IL on March 19th – 22nd? Or for that matter has anyone ever been to an MGCA – Conference? This is my first time in Chicago so if your not attending but you have some suggestions for entertainment I would love to hear them.

I've been to MGCA before (in 2002).....all I have to say is that it was a decent program but the most interesting part were the speakers. The pathways weren't helpful to me because the ones I was assigned to focused a lot on big greek systems when mine is very small. But who knows....other people might have other opinions.
As for entertainment....we didn't get much time at all but we did go to dinner at Harry Carey's and also went to the Hard Rock Cafe I think that Friday night. It was fun. Enjoy....! |
There's a bar that I visited last summer when I went to Nationals in Chicago I think called O'leary that you can go to( as soon as I get the correct name, I'll post it) . very reasonable prices. Our Greek Council Advisor from CSU will be there for the conference.

I was there in 2000. It was pretty neat to see and meet so many people from so many campuses. The speakers were kind of hit and miss--some people really liked them or and some people didn't. I remember there were a few Pathways that were really good for our councils and we came back with a lot of good ideas and energy for the next semester.
As far as things to do, our IFC and CPC councils took one night and went to Navy Pier as a group (I think our Greek Adviser set it up) but that's all we really did out of the conference. Otherwise we just hung out at the hotels. The majority of the people who were 21 went to the hotel bar to hang out and have fun. |
