Poll: Tell Now or Wait for the Big Day
Ok, I just found out for sure about an hour ago that I am pregnant....
This isn't exactly planned, but it isn't exactly unplanned...it was kind of...we know we want to have kids, and just figured it would happen when the time is right....I guess it's now! Ok, so no one knows yet and I'm debating on telling him now or waiting until V-Day for the surprise... Guys and Girls ring in! Is it too cheesy, or guys would you be offended if she waited to tell you....??? |
Up to you, but it would make a great Valentines Day surprize.
Congratulations! |
Congrats!!!
It is one of the few big secrets that a woman can spring on a guy... If it were me, I'd want to wait, but I am the WORST at keeping surprises!!! It's why I don't Christmas shop until just before Christmas - otherwise I'd have given everyone their presents and ruined all the surprises!! Good luck! Allison |
whatever choice you make. Congrats, alphafrog:)

Our situation is a little bit different. We've been trying for awhile, but so far we've had no luck. In my situation, DH would want to know ASAP. :)
I think V-Day might be a little too much, but only you know your SO's "ick" factor. My DH would think it's too mushy to spring it on him on V-Day. He'd never would have proposed on Christmas or V-Day. We're too cynical as individuals and as a couple.:p So do what you think is most appropriate. !!!! Congratulations !!!! |
OMG congrats hon!!!!!!!! I guess this means I will be an aunt LOL.
I don't think I could wait that long to tell him - my poker face is nonexistent!!! |
How wonderful! I would leave him hints but tell him on V-Day.
|
It's his too, tell him now. What the heck does this have to even do with VDay?

I say tell him now.
News of a baby is pretty shocking, even when it's what you're hoping for. It's pretty common for men, even when a couple is trying to get pregnant, to freak out/get quiet/act wierd when they hear the news. I'd tell him now, in case he does react weirdly. By Valentines Day, he'll be over the shock, and you two can maybe do something special to celebrate the pregnancy. On the chance he goes grumpy on you, you don't want that to happen on V-Day. (By the way - Congratulations!!!) |
Give your S.O. a Valentine's Day card for a Dad. :)

Congrats on your wonderful news! :) |
Congrats!!!
My husband and I were in sort of the same boat; we were planning to start trying and then found out we were already pregnant! There was no choice for me. I was so sick from a severe form of morning sickness that either I told him the truth or pretended to have a REALLY bad flu until I told him. Of course, I told him that night. It is completely up to you. But, if it were me I would tell him immediately. For one thing, he should be there to support you emotionally from the start. Plus, if you wait to tell him, he might feel hurt that you waited to tell him such exciting and important news. I would want to do as someone above mentioned. Tell him so that he can get over the shock of it all. Then, V-day can be about the family you are starting and celebrating the happiness of it all. Just my opinion, though... If you need anyone to talk to or have questions and want to ask someone who's going through the same thing, do not hesitate to PM me! And, one of the best investments you can buy is the book: What to Expect When You Are Expecting . It has answered SO many of my questions. Again, congrats! |

Congrats on the upcoming arrival. :) |
I would wait to tel him. It isn't like it is weeks away...it is only three days.

I wanted to add that when my husband came home, I posed this question to him.
He DEMONSTRATIVELY said that he would have wanted to know immediately! And, he said that if I had handed him a card that said Happy V-Day Daddy I would been picking him up off of the floor. He said break it to him gently unless you two were absolutely trying to get pregnant. Just thought you might want a guy who's been through this before's opinion. But, do what you feel is best for the two, no, three of you's interests! |
