Big/little
 

what do you do for Big/Little sister or brother.......... any ideas?? I know that some dont tell them who they are until half way or until they cross. We are thinking of writing inspirational messages, candy, or cute cards and mysteriously give it to them..........and i know there big/little revealing ceremony......etc

For big/lil sis, the big sis gives presents, for example flowers, candy, movies, stuff like that to their lil sis for 3 days. We hold revealing before initations and the day of revealing the big sis strings yarn around the house making the house one giant maze. each lil sis gathers their yarn and it leads them to their big sis's room.

We have a big/lil sis week where we leave them notes and presents all week. Our big/lil is revealed in their first ritual at the end of that week.

We did the yarn thing once, but it was considered hazing (yes I know that's lame) so we're not allowed to do that anymore.

In my chapter, they find out who their big is at pledging pinning. They then get a secret sister who usually is their grand big but if their grand big is alumnae, someone else in the chapter takes over or someone else in that family tree does. Secrets leave the new members gifts each week with clues and at initiation the new members have to figure out who their secret is. Secrets like to trick the new members lol...its fun! In all, it works out good!

We do a lot of the same stuff, with the little gifts and stuff. One thing though that some of the girls have been doing lately is making photo albums for their little sister and filling them with picutres from pledging up to that point. They've come out really cute and you can get creative with it.

we heard of the string thing as hazing too (still haven't figured out how...)
my chapter does "Guess Who?" for sponsor revelation. it really only works if you have a big chapter. the little stands in the front and looks at all the actives, who are standing up. and the little has to ask yes or no questions, such as "does my big have blonde hair?" if the big has blonde hair, the vp/recruitment tells all the people with brown/black/red hair to sit. this goes on until there is one girl left.
its really fun!!

as far as the gifts go, we do small things, like pin boxes, keychains, etc. sponsor revelation/initaion is when everyone goes crazy!

Can't tell you what we do, but we find out at initiation. Throughout the semester, we get cards, candy, flowers, balloons, stuff with Phi Chi plastered all over it, stuffed animals, notes... you name it. I was SPOILED. Fo initiation, my big sis got me a letter hoodie, a whole bunch of other stuff, and even bought toys for my CAT. Expect to see a bunch of picture frames. :)
