Do you listen to KLOVE?
 

Just out of curiousity... are there any sisters that listen to KLOVE? For those that don't know what it is... it is a Nationwide (world wide, by computer) christian radio station. They have "substations" all over the country and steaming audio on the net... and I'm just curious...

PS this isn't the question that I mentioned in a different thread...


If you aren't christian, is there a religous radio station that you listen to?

I'm a Christian.

My radio dial is always set to NPR.

Thanks for replying, but that isn't what I was asking... maybe this isn't a good question...

There just isn't many radio stations that are ALL across the world that you can listen to in your car and in your office or wherever... since this happens to be a christian radio station... I figured it would be that demographic listening.

I don't want anyone to think that I'm a bible-beating christian, so this wasn't a poll of religion. Sorry if it came off that way... I was just curious if any other sisters or greeks out there were listening to the same station...

It is kinda like talking to someone on the phone, who is all the way across the country and they have the same TV station on in the background... I know that when I was young and I spoke with my mom on the phone (who lives in a different time zone than me...) that it was always soooo cool to hear the same tv show on in the background... one of those things that makes you feel not so far apart... you know.

I like to think that all religions are like being Greek... we all have a foundation that is different but we are all striving for peace, love, and understanding. And just like all Greek Orgs you have your extermists that think their way is the only way... when in reality it isn't, you just choose a different way. Now we are all recruiting for new members and sometimes you have people who change groups (which some groups allow and some don't).... but we all honor our beliefs and we all will die and we all have a different belief in what happens after that final breath takes place.

Sorry about the soapbox... back to the question or not...

If you go on break with the group at my workplace you'll find a lot of people who listen to NPR and talk about it the same way that you describe. "When Bob Edwards talked to ___ this morning," or "Garrison's monologue Saturday night was so funny!" or "Tom and Ray had a caller who...," referring to Morning Edition, Prairie Home Companion, and Car Talk.

I listen to WBEZ from Chicago, mostly, but can also get WUWM from Milwaukee and WHAD from Delafield. WHAD features "To the Best of Our Knowledge" on Sunday afternoons--excellent 12-minute features about all kinds of subjects. "This American Life" casts its net widely, too.

As a long-time NPR listeners my DH and I were thrilled to be invited to a small (12 people) dinner with Terry Gross (host of Fresh Air). She spoke at the president's program at a conference I attended; the president was (is) a personal friend who asked if we'd like to join them.

I listen to NPR for its classical music programing. (not recently though :( )
