Serious Question
 

Hey guys. I'm new to this board and I've been a member of Sigma Kappa for one semester and I have a serious question. At the school that I attend, our particular sorority is not liked at all by the girls of Delta Gamma. I am curious if this animosity is just here at our school or is it everywhere else? I'm curious b/c relations between the two sororities are FROSTY :( at best.

no, that's not the same at all schools. i was friends with a couple of DG's at my school. what is the reasoning behind them not liking your chapter?

we get along with the dg's here, but there are a couple other orgs that we don't get along with real well. i think it just depends on the campus.

I think there is always a chapter on campus that someone doesn't get along with. We have the same problem here(not w/DG). The DG thing is definately not a national thing. Chapters vary from school to school.

I agree with the other sisters who have posted when I say that it's definitely not a national thing. Tension between chapters on a campus usually ebbs and flows over time. One semester your chapter might feel tension with XYZ, another semester ABC. Sometimes it may stem from recruitment or a philanthropy contest or even a misunderstanding. The best thing your chapter can do is not feed the fire by treating the Delta Gammas with respect even if you feel they don't deserve it. Whatever is causing the "frost" will eventually go away.

I'd have to agree with everyone else. The DG's here are our neighbors across the alley (the backs of our houses share the alley) and we don't have any problems with them. It's just like how Chapters of an organization will be different from campus to campus, the same goes for inter-greek tension.
