You may have heard about a production based off the coffee table book "Crowns" (A pictorial of African American church women & their hats) is being presented @ Arena Stage in DC.

I went to see it and I was BLOWN away! The singers were phenomenal & the entire production was amazing. I was also a bit surprised that the audience was ONLY 50% us and 50% others! So I wanted to let you all know the show has been extended to the 22nd of Feb. so please support this event and if you are a student (of any kind) you can get a 20% discount. It may be easier to call the box office and purchase rather than using the site!

I didn't know she was a member. I have loved sseeing her perform since I first saw her in I'll Fly Away (which I still watch in rerun on American Life TV).

The FAMU Essentials Theatre previewed their production of 'Crowns' last night. I really enjoyed it. I reminded me of my late grandmother and countless other women I knew growing up. The production was good and the singin was on point. Those sistas were sangin last night. I would love to see the national touring company of this show.
