Sarasota girl found

I don't who has been following this story about Carlie Brucia, and 11 year old Sarasota girl that was kidnapped on Sunday. Her body was found early this morning and there was a press conferance at 7:00 about it. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the Sarasota, FL community as they all struggle with today's event.

I heard about this while driving to work this morning. The man charged with kidnapping her has been arrested 13 times. Most of them for drug possession but he had been arrested before for kidnapping/imprisonment. He kept getting released early from jail for "good behavior". In the past two months, we've seen two young girls (girl from North Dakota) kidnapped by men who had been previously arrested for this and released from prison early.

I don't understand death. Least of all do I understand why someone would murder a child. This is so tragic.

honeychile 02-06-2004 10:38 AM

I have absolutely no connection to this child, yet I am filled with pain. How can someone who had been arrested 13 times - once for false imprisonment - be walking the streets? How do the attorneys who have represented this predator sleep at night? And don't tell me it's because he's offered due process under the Constitution - I'm sick to death of people bending the Constitution to meet - or stoop - to their standards!

Such a waste of human DNA.

How sad about her. May justice be served in her name.

Bring back Old Sparky from retirement! (Florida's electric chair is no longer used; they went to juicing the condemned with lethal injections for the past five or so years.)

Hanging 'em from the public square should be an option as well. Riff-raff like that don't deserve to live.

adpialumcsuc 02-06-2004 01:51 PM

This is very very sad. I hope he suffers for what he has done to that child.

Florida does lethal injections and it's considered inhumane because they use barium or something and it can cause people to suffocate before they actually die.

Hell, just shoot him in the head for all I care. Or send him to prison. For being a child killer, he'd get what was coming to him... if he survives.

Bleeding heart liberal judges and lawmakers.

Jill1228 02-06-2004 04:16 PM

I just read that....they need to execute his azz! Hell, I would be honored to give him the final injection...with a dirty needle. Hell, I would even do it for free!

As a Floridian and living just 30 minutes away from where this occurred, I agree with bringing back Ol' Sparky. Hell, I'm all for taking him out back with a shot gun - no need for a trial because we all know the bastard is guilty!

Well I must wait and say "Innocent until proven guitly" which this guy as all odds against him condering he looks just like the video and the false imprisonment also say he is the one. Put who knows he may be innocent (which I dount it)

If proven guilty (more likely when he is proven guilty) I think the family should decide what to do with him.

Behead the SOB with a dull axe.

Draw and quarter him... all after a few nights on the rack.

F___ the civil rights of such people. In my opinion, when you commit such a horrible act (and are found guilty of it) you should have no rights. In my eyes, they're not even human.

Peaches-n-Cream 02-06-2004 06:49 PM

When I heard the news, I felt so sad. This poor little girl didn't have a chance. I feel so sorry for her family. They must be devastated.

I'm somewhat torn on the whole capital punishment issue, so I'll keep quiet on that.

But--if Florida prisons are the same as how it is all over the country, a person who committed a crime against a child will have a hard time surviving in prison.
