Kappa Sigma to Leave IMH, Build new HQ
Brothers, the following is a portion of a letter from the SEC I recieved in a mailing list today:
...The Supreme Executive Committee has decided that the Kappa Sigma Fraternity will remain in Charlottesville, Virginia and that a brand new headquarters will be constructed and held in irrevocable trust for all of the Fraternity forever. The new headquarters will be the finest in the fraternal world. It will be located on 6.1 acres of magnificent land near Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. The estimated cost of construction and the land is $6,500,000. We are please to announce that the Supreme Executive Committee and the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund Trustees have each voted unanimously to donate $1,000,000 to our new headquarters. These commitments as well as others, gives us over $2,200,000 towards the project. The Renaissance Campaign is currently raising additional funds. The site plan and design for our new home will be in published in the spring issue of the Caduceus as well as shortly posted on the Kappa Sigma website. The Supreme Executive Committee is committed to building the greatest fraternal home for the greatest fraternity. We truly look forward to the continued success of the Order. AEKDB Kevin S. Has anyone else gotten the email/Caduceus with the info on the new HQ? Looks pretty amazing, a massive building project that should be impressive when all is said and done.
What are everyone's thoughts? AEKDB Collin |
My thoughts are that there is a lot of pressure on chapters to come up with money.
I am still not straight on all the IMH stuff either. Quote:
