They will be able to tell you what the minimum GPA is to rush in general and for each sorority.

You can also contact Heather Mack hmack@westga.edu

Melissa, I know that you have posted on various boards. I don't know if you have checked out the UWG website. It looks like that page is outdated, date wise..double check with them on the GPA.. The website also has terrific info no matter what school a pnm (or recruitmentee, lol) goes to.
http://www.westga.edu/~stuacts/greek...sh_rules.shtml

In order to participate in Recruitment, a first-time college student must have a 2.0 UWG adjusted GPA from high school, and West Georgia (or transfer) students must have a 2.0 University GPA based on a minimum of 12 hours of non-developmental University work. However, the Interfraternity Council suggests that a student have a minimum of a 2.20 GPA because some cannot extend bids to students who have below a 2.20 UWG adjusted GPA. Each chapter has their own guidelines however, and some have requirements as high as a 2.7 GPA. No one placed in Learning Support Classes is eligible to pledge until they successfully complete all Learning Support Classes and earn a 2.00 based on 12 hours or more in non-learning support classes. A student must maintain full-time student status (minimum of 12 credit hours) during his/her new new member period.
No man is eligible to pledge during the summer months. It is illegal to promise a bid to a Recruitmentee at any time during the summer months and the fall Recruitment period prior to the exact day and time that bids may be extended to Recruitmentees.

BTW, Heather Mack has resigned from being Asst. GL Director or whatever her title was. She has accepted a new position as a Director to the Atlanta Big Brother/Big Sister Org. She's a Phi Mu (from Auburn, I think).

Linda Picklesimer is the one handling Panhellenic Council (at least for now)

You can email her @ lindap@westga.edu <lindap@westga.edu>

Dang, that's the third PH director at UWG in 3 years--the one from 2 years ago is advising the Greeks here!

Jill1228 01-29-2004 09:17 PM

I hope you got your questions answered! Good luck!

AGDLynn 01-29-2004 10:45 PM

FYI, Linda is the Director and has been there a couple of decades and I don't think she's going anywhere, lol.

carnation 01-29-2004 11:57 PM

Then what about the Kappa we got from there 2 years ago who was supposed to be the Greek Director there?

AGDLynn 01-30-2004 12:01 AM

Can't say for sure since I haven't been working with the chapter that long. I think that Linda is the Director of Student Affairs and the Asst. Director oversees the Greeks. When I think of Student Affairs, I only think of Greek Life, lol.

rainbowbrightCS 01-30-2004 07:30 AM

right Linda over see everything, but for now is handling P.C. If you call the student activites and ask about a sorority the transfer you to Linda P.
