Letter of Interest
 

Hello there. For anyone who can help me, I wanted to know about the letter of interest. Specifically, what should I say, how long should it be, who do I address it to, should it be organized in a specific way, etc.. I really don't know how to go about completing one and I would like to make a good impression. Thank you very much.

Don't Stress!! Your letter of interest is to introduce yourself and tell the Sorors why you are interested in becoming an AKA. We can't tell you what to put in your letter of interest, just introduce yourself, why you want to join our sorority and anything else you think is important for us to know about you. Just make sure you keep it to one page.

It is all a matter of taste, which varies from chapter to chapter. I, personally, would think that one volunteer activity is not enough. However, my sorors on your campus may think differently. If you have a friend in the chapter or someone you can trust, she would be the best person to consult.

Convinced is correct. It varies from chapter to chapter. I say use your best judgement or consult with a member of the chapter that you may be close to.

OK, QUESTION ON THIS TOPIC. I AM GETTING CONFLICTING ADVICE. SOME SAY TO KEEP IT TO ONE PAGE OTHER SAY YOU SHOULD BE THROUGH. E.G. I HAVE VOLUNTEERED WITH MEMBERS AT A CHILDREN'S SHELTER. IS THIS ENOUGH OR SHOULD YOU GO INTO DETAILS ABOUT WHEN AND EXCATLY WHICH MEMBERS YOU VOLUNTEERED WITH ? ANY ADVICE OR COMMENTS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
