food lion fundraiser
my chapter is just now starting a new fundraiser--doesnt raise a huge amount of money, but its easy. If any of you all have food lion MVP cards, you can go to foodlion.com and register your fraternity/sorority for this fundraiser. Basically, it rolls a portion of hte money you save on their discounts to any non-profit organization, up to $350 a quarter.
like i said, not a huge amount of cash, but for not having to do any work, its nice |
thanx

I think Lowes and Harris Teeter do the same thing...and I know Target does something similar for schools, but I don't know if they do it for other organizations or not.

it's for the whole year
if you sign up enough people, it should be very easy to make $1400 a year |
While the LionShare (the Food Lion program) is an easy fundraiser, it is very hard to raise a significant amount of money utilizing it. I do professional fundraising for a not-for-profit organization, and we tried to use this program. Over 500 people registered their MVP cards through the Food Lion website, and we average about $12 a quarter. And, you have to remember to resign up all the cards utilizing the program annually.
So- good luck with the program! Not to burst your bubble, I just thought I'd share our experience with LionShare. |
Most grocery stores seem to have a program like that. However, as a local, it's hard to do a program like this because places like Albertsons and Safeway require a tax ID number for their program. The 501c.3 status costs about $350, or at least that's what it was when we looked into it. Though FoodLion may be different.
But honestly, you'd have to give away a LOT of cards for it to make a decent amount of money. My brother's old choir is on the Albertson's program, but they still need to fundraise like crazy to get anywhere. |
PS -
I think Kroger does this too.
