Ok question about switching chapters

Hopefully someone who had been through something similar or knows might have an answer.
Ok, I went through rush this past fall and was a proud new AOII. I went through pledging and about half of the new member period. There were some family illnesses that caused me to have to drop the semester as well as leave school.
Starting this semester I transferred back to my original school and would like to join the same sorority different chapter obviously. I contacted the president of this chapter and the chapter has invited me to dinner tomorrow and I am going.
My question is, do I have to go through getting another bid and even pledging again?
Just curious

Thanks Greek Chatters!

Every sorority handles transfers and/or affiliation differently, but in speaking for my own org, yes, you would have to go through the recruitment, bid and pledging process again since you were never initiated.

You might be able to ask the chapter you pledged to give you a recommendation though - in fact, I'd recommend doing that. It can't hurt! :)

Good luck to you!

well I guess I can

but hopefully by the time that I would be able to get ahold of the chapter president from the first chapter, I will already have my bid. :):);)
I am going to meet all the ladies today I am really excited!
Edited to say that it does make sense to go through the bid, pledging process again!
Ok thanks !

If you haven't been initiated, it would probably be wise to take the letters out of your sig. It's likely that someone from your school may be on here.... while some may think it's cute, others might think it's presumputuous. Plus some people get irked by nonsisters using letters. I'm not trying to be b!tchy, it's just honest advice, if you want to help your chances.

Good luck!

So right about the letters

I guess I just think AOII is the best sorority and I want those letters in my signature;)
I gues I will have to wait:):)
Honest mistake sorry...
Btw, Thank you so much for all the replies. It means a lot to me.

Good luck, sweetchicky!!! I hope you are able to be an AOPi at your new school! Hopefully they will realize the qualities that made your other chapter choose you in the first place!!! Please keep us posted! It would be great to have another AOPi sister!
