Dangers to Children!!!!!
ATTENTION!!!!!!!
ATTENTION!!!!!!! I feel the need to inform everyone of the danger that franks pose to children. Last Friday May 4, 2001 my little 2yr old cousin died because he choked on a frank that his father fed him. The baby went for 45 minutes without oxygen because EMS could not get it out. It is the saddest thing I have ever witness. His wife(a member of AKA) is distraut as any mother would be. Please everyone do not feed your babies franks, I beg you. And I wouldn't be able to forgive myself for not warning as many parents as possible. If it is a necessity please cut it into tiny pieces. If anyone else knows of any potential dangers to children please share, so we can keep our children safe!! ------------------ "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" When da EAST is in da house....Oh my GOD!!!! DANGER! [This message has been edited by OhSoPrettyNikki (edited May 07, 2001).] [This message has been edited by OhSoPrettyNikki (edited May 07, 2001).] |

This is truly sad indeed. May God be with you and your family.
Another thing I would recommend keeping from small children is small candy (i.e. mints, small round hard candies, life savers, gummi bears, etc.). They are easy to choke on as well. |
I am so sorry to hear about your family's loss, OhSoPretty! Girl! You and your famly will be in my prayers.
Thank you for passing on the warning. |
May God keep you and your family in His loving arms!!

You and your family are in my prayers.

OhSoPrettyNikki,
I am so sorry to hear this. I actually heard about this on saturday evening from my mom. She wanted to warn me about this danger also. I believe my family is familiar with the father's side of the family. I couldn't believe the coincidence when I read your post. I was practically in tears when I heard about it. My heart went out to them and still does. My prayers are with you all. Please everyone, supervise your children as much as possible. It only takes a few seconds for a tragedy to happen. Peace, Lilma [This message has been edited by lilmama_26 (edited May 09, 2001).] |
My prayers are also with you and your family.

The SAME THING happened to the son of a very dear friend of mine about 10 years ago. He was in a coma for about 3 days before they pulled the life support. It was truly a sad time for all that were involved. I pray your strength in the Lord.
Last night on ER Dr. Benton's son Reese (who is deaf) broke his hand when it got slammed in a piano. Cleo was watching him, so that was, of course, mad drama, but another example of making sure your eyes are on the little ones at all times! |
Nikki...I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. I will say a prayer for you and your family...may God comfort and keep you.
When I was in 2nd grade I choked on a piece of brach's butterscotch candy (the round ones) I ran a half a block home into my house into my mother she knew I was choking and she did the heimlich(sp) manuever on me and I spit it out. I was scared to death! My mother is a nurse so she knew what to do. You don't have to be a nurse to learn basic cpr/first aid. I would recommend it to everyone. I learned it in high school and then was certified all through college. Haven't been certified for a while..but I remember the basics. If I become pregnant again I plan on me AND my husband taking a course at the local Red Cross. Keep your kids away from: Rubber Bands Small round candies Coins Bottle Caps Grapes Ballons(leftovers after it has popped) |
