Poll: Who Provides Your Cable

Who is your cable service provider? The rants about COX cable in the current HC thread made me curious.

Oh yeah and rate them on a scale of 1-10.

Time Warner Cable -- Digital package for me.

No problems with them. I give them an 8 because they charge too flipping much and for the past month, the On Demand movies have not been in demand for me.

Time Warner Cable- SASAS

TOOO friggin' expensive! But, I say...7.6 ;)

feu_declipse 01-24-2004 01:59 PM

Comcast.
They also provide my internet - I haven't had a problem yet. (Knock on wood) :)

Well I used to have Time Warner, However due to the constant rise in the prices I no longer have cable. While I have the service I would rate it about 7.5-8.

co-sign on to that! how you have almost 1000 channels and nothing s ever on?! but i do like having the tv shows in demand, as well as the tv guide channel so you can scroll ahead for about a week in advance.

i would rate it at an 8 as well.

im not sure who provides the cable in our dorm, but its decent- most of the major cable channels, all the basics (upn has crappy reception--any parallels to the programming?) in addition, game show network, (which i think im the only person who watches it) and the 3 hbo's.

i guess its an 8 as well.

When I had cable, it was Cox Communications
On a scale of one to ten , they get a 3 (for service, channels, etc.) and they only get that because after they "so-called" cut my cable off, I was still able to get it for 8 months afterwards.

I have DirectTV now. :D a ten!

Comcast in Richmond. It is the only cable choice in my area,

I have no problem with it. Comcast has the on-demand and soon they will have DVRs for rent.

I had satellite. The tv kept messing up on rainy days, but it did have better picture quality compare to cable.

Time Warner Digitial/Road Runner Service I give them a 6 because the daggone RoadRunner service has so many outages and there's nothing EVER on TV.

And for all that money you pay for digital cable, those on demand movies ought to be FREE!!

We are >< and they need to change them more frequently. Also offer more old school movies.

I miss Insight Communications (Columbus, Ohio). They offered more of a variety for On Demand movies.

COSIGN!!! I have AOL through Time Warner and it's always on the outs.

Comcast.

It's cool with me because I don't pay for it (my complex provides it). I do wish they added new channels more frequently though. My mother has the full digital package and she still doesn't get Oxygen or We.

I have ConCrap. It use to be AT&T Broadband. Anyway depending on my mood and the day I rate ComCast about 4-5.

It sucks that I don't have a choice in my cable provider (but that's another rant for another day)

Rants about Comcast
-they just raised my rates in Dec
-they charge 1.99 if you want to change packages (AT&T Broadband never use to charge me if I wanted to go from the silver to the gold package
- they take for every to add new channeles. (we're just NOW getting the Fine Living and DIY channels.)

That's odd - I have the digital package and I have WE. I keep watching "single in LA"

Well, I have Adephia, and they kind of suck b/c:

1.) At home, where the cable service provider is Comcast (not my apt near my school), I have VH1 Soul (I LOOOOOOOOVE the channel), and over here we don't have it (I wonder why  )...
2.) They have good package deals, but it's widely known that they charge to much for their cable service (there was even a lawsuit that stated that some of thewir consumers would be getting a refund or rebate (or some equivalent) b/c they govt. found that they =were charging too much for their services (the company supposedly claimed backruptcy)...
3.) They ALWAYS have service interuptions (that irks the HE-Double-Hockeysticks out of me, esp. when it occurs for hours at a time and I have to pay for their service still)...They say they are makin improvements, but , how about "no!" they are re not!!!

I give them a 7--only b/c we have the homie hook-up and they offer a good cable internet/cable tv ackage...but other than that...no...they suck and I really wish I had Comcast :(

I have Mediacom-digital- and I hate them. I rate them a 0, but I love watching television and in this town if you don't have cable you only get three channels.

There is always a rate increase or they are always rearranging channels, then when you complain about it they get an attitude. The first time I disconnected my digital service, I asked them to come out and pick up the equipment. They are always at my apartment complex, so pickup should be easy, but no...the lady told me I can drop it off. I told her they will find there digital box in the middle of 7th street because it is going out the window. There offices are not in the best of locations. I also informed her there is aways a Mediacom van at my building so there should not be a problem. They picked it up the very next day. And lets not talk about calling off work because you have to wait for them all dang on day for them. Now, the people that come out and set up your services, they are very nice and respectful.

Where I am located, we have a seven year contract with them and the residents have been complaining to the mayor about them. I mean calling him at his HOME and complaining about them. Then the Mayor called them about a service problem he was having and the operators got an attitude with him. That next community meeting, he told a repersentive of Mediacom that once the contract is up, the city will be looking for a new cable service.
