NPC Bid Day at Penn
Today's Daily Pennsylvanian's story on sorority Bid Day is at
http://www.dailypennsylvanian.com/vn.../4010ea4c9a672 No figures for quota or inidivdual chapters, but it does say 507 women registered for recruitment and "about 340" got bids. One person is quoted as saying that there were early and harsh cuts. ETA: For quota figures and other information updating what's in the student paper, please see bruinaphi's post in this thread. I guess it's always interesting to see how an Ivy League Greek system is doing. :) |
This has nothing to do with rush but did you see the pic of Penn's new president? She looks (but of course is not) the same age as the collegians!! You go girl
As a side note, Phi Sigma Sigma is there also and I believe they are having a recolonization rush after regular rush is over. |
Yeah that pres. is gorgous too. she looks like a cheerfull agreeable person.
I can't believe she is 54! I want to look that good when I am 54. |
The outgoing President of Penn is Judith Rodin, a DPhiE alumna. :)
Those cuts seem pretty severe. I wasn't there obviously so I don't know what happened. 340 bids out of 507 seems harsh. About one third of the PNM didn't receive bids. |
Did Ya Notice?
That the words "potential new member", "new member" or "recruitment" were not in the article? ;) :D
|
It is my understanding that there were ~43 women who were released by all chapters this year as compared to about 60 last year. The remainder of women who did not pledge were withdrawls. The cuts were based on NPC's release figure methodology, not schedule.
Quota was 49 and 4 of 7 chapters pledged quota while 3 others were very close. |
