Chapters?

Sorry to barge into your forum. I had a question. I looked at your website and could not find the answer. I attend Florida Atlantic University... I was walking near the dorms last week when I saw in the sidewalk the letters AOPi. As in someone drew in the wet cement. Now as far as I know , there hasnt been a AOPi at my school. But I was reading old newspaper articles the other day and it said that before the current 4 sororities, there used to be national ones that did not make it. Now I was wondering if ANYONE knows if there was a chapter, or maybe a colony at one point in time??? This would be before 1987ish.
My advisor would not know because she is new to the school and doesnt know much about NPC sororities.

Yes there was an AOII chapter there. I am not sure of the dates though. I can get those when I go home for lunch from AOII History Book.

Alpha Beta Chapter at Florida Atlanta was installed in 1969 and it closed shortly thereafter in 1971.

Hope this helps :)

Sorry to jump in but I go to FAU and had a question! Is Alpha Omicron Pi going to try to recolonize at FAU?

A sorority can colonize if the campus is open for expansion, the sorority expresses interest, and the campus Panhellenic votes to invite that sorority. At present, FAU is not open for expansion, so no, AOII cannot colonize there now. If it becomes open, AOII would evaluate whether or not it wants to submit a packet, thereby requesting to be considered for selection.
