Hope History doesn't repeat itself...

Our power went off at home sometime in the middle of last night. I't still not back on at 2PM.

Last time we had a power failure this long, the huge NE Blackout happened the following day...

Are you jinxing us? They did say on the news a couple days ago that they could have rolling blackouts due to the extreme cold. It was one thing to deal with it when it was 85 degrees. It's going down to -5 tonight though!

I refer to the blackout of this past Summer as, "The Great Cocktail Party of 2003." Me, and many other New Yorkers, are hoping that it becomes an annual event, but only when the weather is nice.;)

My power went out for a few minutes Tuesday night. I was afraid it was another blackout. Maybe it will be in a few days, but I hope not.

We cannot afford to have any blackouts when it is below 70 degrees outside.

I'm hoping that DeltAlum is wrong this time.

Yeah, me too.

Our last blackout also turned into a party -- but, obviously it was also during the summer.

Just heard from Mrs. DA who tells me we probably won't have power until sometime this evening. Allegedly a main feeder broke underneath an adjacent freeway/tollroad/outerbelt.

Let's hear it for rising electrical bills!

The power came back on at 5:00 PM.

I thought that the blackout in NYC was awful. It was so hot. People were nice to each other because we really didn't have a choice. No one wanted a repeat of the riots in 1977. My power was off for 25 hours. Luckily, I had just walked through the door a few minutes before it happened. No one I know got stuck in the subway or in an elevator. That would have been awful. I prefer no more blackouts.

DA,I am glad that you have power. :)

True. Although it's 60 degrees here today.

I wouldn't mind being where you are right about now. I'm jealous. :( :(
