Re: How do you feel about stepping?
I know one thing...all this talk about steppin', ya'll betta represent at Nationals because I only saw 1, hear me, 1 chapter do anything remotely close to stepping during role call at Nationals in Naw Leans...or maybe a bunch of people did their thing while I took a potty break
And it might not be a bad idea to have a few classes on stepping at conventions...lot of folks don't step because they don't know how...namely me! Yep, I'll admit it...I ain't shame :p |
The only stepping that I specifically remember at
an APO national Convention was in 1994 at Dallas. Prairie View & a couple of others did a demonstration routine and then tried to teach it to the people there The biggest problem was the organizers guess badly on how many people would come to it and the room was packed. I could see the following at convention without major issues... Day 1/2: Registration for step show. Day 1 or 2: Class for those wishing to learn how to step Day 3: Step show. (Voting delegates on floor though) Day 4: Announcement of winners at final banquet, perhaps either replay of winning routing or shown on projector like convention bids. Biggest problem might be issues between co-ed and all-male chapters/alumni groups. |
Naraht, you took the words right out of my mouth :)
