Internet job searching?
Hi guys! So I graduated in December and have been on a serious job hunt since the 1st of the year (I know that's not very long). Right now I am living in Houston due to lack of a job, but I desperatley want to move back to California (the state where I grew up). I have gone through the many job websites (hotjobs, craigslist, jobtrack...) And now I am running out of pleaces to search for a job. Does anyone have any good pointers for me? Any websites that I many not have seen yet? What has been the most effective for everyone searching and those who have already found employment?
Thanks! |
Check with your alma matter. Although I've looked at a variety of job boards/newspapers/recruiters, most of the "grown up" jobs I've gotten are from employers who listed specifically w/ my alma matter's career services.
Good Luck! |
I found that careerbuilder.com is a good one. Unfortunately, you have to read the descriptions VERY carefully. I got a call from a so-called "marketing" group for an entry-level position in marketing, and it turned out that it was selling knives door to door... not exactly what I see as a marketing position.
