Loving Someone Who Doesn't Love You
I was talking to a friend today about parents and I began to talk about my dad. Now my dad is such a dead beat that it aint funny. However, I still love him. My friend said that I was wasting time and that they could never love anyone who didn't love them back. I thought about it for a while, but I concluded that I was doing the right thing. I will always love my father because he is my flesh and blood. If he ever needed anything I would be there for him. I believe that I have to do unto others as I would have them do unto me, not do unto others as they do unto me.
What do you think? Would the dynamics be any different with a boyfriend or girlfriend? If you told someone you loved them is there any reason for you to stop loving them just because things didn't work out? |
I empathize with your parental love issue. I mean no disrespect with what I'm about to say, but I am soooooooo glad that my father was in my life and I had a chance to see how a real Black man acts and takes care of his family!!!
But I meant to email you a Bible verse because it specifically addresses your situation with your father. There are several verses in "Proverbs" and in "Philippians", "Colassians" and both books of "Timothy" relating to what you are going through as the child. I need to get them for you. But I basically understand all these verses to mean, "Honor thy Mother and Father"... And even if a parent walks out on you, you still love them for I (Jesus Christ) will never foresake you and you can rely on the True and Heavenly Father... So, your real Father is better that my earthly dad!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif (I still love my Diddy, but I know who my real Father is, too) Just to let your know that all the hairs on your head have been counted... |
I think it does depend on the dynamics. Blood is thicker than water. I don't see myself wasting my time on someone who wasn't family. You have to know when to let go because if not you just subject yourself to more and more pain. But, that's just talk. Every situation and circumstance is different. I'll say a prayer for you and your situation

Serenity24,
Please email me privately. Thank you |
I'm in love with girl but I think she thinks I'm not because I love her to much. I've probably did a lot to make her that way. I know she loves me but I hope she's not doing it to hold on. I hope she's not loving me and feeling I'm not loving her. I think if you love someone you try to work things out even though they don't work all that good at the beginning but as long as there is a start. I know my girl thinks its hard but I ask of her to be patient and give me that unforgiven minute. In a relationship, I feel if things don't work out that those to people should get away from each other until they can heal their wounds. Like some say space, What is space? Space means that we can make things work but do I think it can work? Well I beleive that allthings can be worked out if the two person want them to wiork out. If One don't and the other do there still will be a lost. Serenity 24 email me privately, lets talk.
