Another badge on Ebay...
 

Well, Docdaisy is at it again... This time they are trying to get a standard issue badge. The seller is a ZTA, which I think is really sad. (Not to mention that she's from my old chapter...) I have bid my maximum bid and can't afford to go any higher.

If I were to bid on it and get it, would there be any way for me to get reimbursed? I have the funds to pay for it, but I'm kinda low on cash at the moment (just had to buy more books for the semester), and I wanted to know if there was a way I could definitely get the money back. I just really don't want this person to get yet another badge! :mad:

GRRRR. I hate collectors. My suggestion is to wait until it is about to end. I can assure you that there are a couple of sisters out there watching these auctions. Stacey (radiozta), Barabara Purks are two of them. I am just hurt that our sister is so in debt and feels this is a way to reduce the debt. If I could, I would buy the badge and let her keep it and my money. But I am a poor college student.

ZTA doesn't have any kind of reimbursement for "rescuing" badges off Ebay. So, it is just the "thought that is father to the deed" in this case.

Keep your fingers crossed that a sister gets the badge.

Just thought that I would add some new info:

The seller was a ZTA who left the fraternity after two years. She no longer wants the badge.

AND,

I have noticed a Docdaisy here on GC and she lists herself as a DZ in her signature. But, if she is the docdaisy from Ebay, she is a collector.

Does IO not reimburse us if we buy them and send them back to IO?? I know that DZ has their people buy them and if you send them back they will give them the money back that they spent. Was just curious about that...That might be an idea that needs to be considered.

Y'all let me know how high you can go, because I would love to try and help get the badge.....I have a little spare money this semester. Just let me know how high y'all can go so I know if I need to watch it or if I will be able to help.

Please excuse this interruption to your forum, but I need to clear something up. THIS "docdaisy" is a Delta Zeta and NOT a collector of pins on E-bay. From what I saw, that person is "docdaisy514" and I am just plain ol' Docdaisy. I can see the confusion, but it's not a fair assumption to make.

I'm sorry to say this, but I feel a little insulted that you would openly say things like that about me on here. I am a member of a wonderful sisterhood and I would never take GLO symbolism for granted. I have a hard time believing that you would think that way about a fellow Greek... and that you would speak about me as if I'm some kind of evil-doer. That's very hurtful. The fact that it was implied that I was (possibly) not a Delta Zeta is even more insulting...

You know, the only reason why I found out about this is that my best friend is a ZTA and she told me that I was being spoke about in a non-favorable light. I'm glad she told me about it... this way I could clear the air and maybe get you guys to rethink some of the things you said. Seeing our badges sold on E-bay is sad and frustrating. But getting angry at the buyer (or the presumed buyer) may not be the answer. Maybe the key lies in speaking to the seller to get them to donate the badges to our National Offices. Just a thought...

In no way did I mean to offend someone who is NOT a collector. But, surely you can see why there was some confusion. It would be like someone going on E-bay as Tippiechick514 and buying up a whole bunch of pins. I would assume if I saw someone named Tippiechick on GC that it would be a big coincidence if that person was not the same one as on E-Bay. (They both have Greek ties and all.)

I am sorry if you had your feelings get hurt. I do not think anyone spoke badly of you. It was a conversation and your name was mentioned. Please re-read the posts and I think you'll see that the only person who was spoken badly of was the collector Docdaisy514 who was thought to be one and the same as you.

Thank you for clearing this whole matter up for us. I, for one, truly hope that you will forgive me for jumping to conclusions.
