What do you all think? Soror LadyAKA asks....
[b] This is compliments of Soror LadyAKA...
Open ended but simple question - We ask everyone to search and not re-post things that have been asked because we have 1) already talked about it and 2) because it takes forever to load this page but I have seen lots of IMG tags lately and I was wondering if this too slows down the page. Actually I know it does, I do this for a living, but I wanted to know what the forum thought about this. Sisterly [This message has been edited by AKA2D '91 (edited May 01, 2001).] |
I don't know ANYTHING about #2....
Whenever it's hard to load this page, it's hard to load other GC pages as well. The SAME images are being loaded on the OTHER GC pages, too. I'm not going to stop using those images, unless the site is no longer available. I guess I'll have to be more patient, if these pages become too heavy to load right away. That's what I think about it.... http://www.plauder-smilies.de/sad/nixweiss.gif [This message has been edited by AKA2D '91 (edited May 01, 2001).] |
I wondered about this, but I thought that because GC did not block the IMG command that perhaps there was enough capacity. I didn't see a difference in the rate that the pages loaded with the images.

The IMG tags slow page loading more than the reposting of a thread. Especially all of the smilies that everyone is using. The popular ones are linked to all the time and that bogs down the plauder-smilies server which causes a delay in loading the pic. That is why the plauder server crashed because everyone that was using the smilies had like 5-10 of them in each post.
