Aaliyah... Video

Alright,

I just got done watching the video for Aaliyah's new single "We Need A Resolution" off of her upcoming self-titled album.

I have two questions for the Brothas, Sistas and Greeks:

What is your opinion of music videos that borrow a little bit from literary genres (mystery, suspense, horror, etc)?

Should one video follow the other as if there were an interlocking story between the videos?

Answer to question 1: music videos actually are "little" movies, which tell a story of the song, if you will. If one notices in the making of a video, there has to be a concept, first. So, if the concept includes mystery, suspense, or horror to convey what the director/artist is trying to say, any way it goes, I don't think it is an issue.

If the artist chooses to have one video follow another, that's fine.

Are you planning on directing videos or something? http://www.plauder-smilies.de/sad/nixweiss.gif

All I can say is....... http://www.plauder-smilies.de/eek2.gif at those DAYUM snakes!!! How in the world could she let them glide all over her like that??? http://www.plauder-smilies.de/yellows/crap.gif

Now back to your question.....I really like the whole concept of meaningful videos that play out as mini movies like Eve's "Love is Blind" or R Kelly's "Down low".. Each one tries to outdo the other and they can be entertaining........

Now as for Shaqueta shaking her big booty in my screen I can do without. If I wanna se it, I can shake mine in a mirror!

Oh nothing like that, I'm a writer and when I saw the video for the first time, I thought "what a great background scene for a suspense novel"... but I don't write suspense... :-(.

I really like it when videos are like little movies. My favorite was that Dru Hill one a few years back, I think it was "Never make a Promise". Remember, it had Michelle Thomas in it and she was being molested by her father and the guy from Dru Hill saved her.
