Pan-Hell Chants/Hymns...coming to a store near you?
 

A few days ago I heard a rumor that the Divine Nine will be making their chants and hymns availible on a CD for purchase. I thought this was an interesting step to take, if it's even true.

Out of curiosity I type in Alpha Kappa into Napster and to my surpise I got the hymn for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

I'd like to know what everyone thinks about this.

First, how would anyone who is NOT a member of the organization KNOW if it is the hymn or NOT? (just asking) Just because it is a song (chants are songs, too), does that have to mean IT IS THE OFFICIAL HYMN or OTHER hymns? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/confused.gif

Second, one can go to www.blackgreeksoundz.com to find CDs of the various orgs of the DIVINE NINE. NOW, the sound bites available were "songs/chants" of DST AND OMEGA PSI PHI.

Well it could be one of two things. You DON'T know, or you have heard it before.

But I never said that it was the official hymn that they were offering. :-D

As a non-member, what is YOUR stance on this?

Should this be a issue for members of the Divine Nine? Why or why not?

*****Let me first preface my post with..."No, what I have to say isn't for the sake of keeping in with nobody...(this is just what I personally feel after looking at wisdom in the face). Also, I post this as a non-member who only comes to GC to chat, I am not seeking membership into any BGLO...I just love the GC Site...especially the Alpha Kappa Alpha and Delta Sigma Theta boards. However, I do know many and plenty of women and men in all nine Organizations on personal and business levels and I am always BLESSED when in their presence! I am always loved and cared for by each one and I am NEVER, made to feel less of a Leader because I am not a part of the Divine Nine". *****


As a non-member, I feel (non-members) should always maintain an high level of respect for members of the Divine Nine or any organization and NOT be so consumed with non-member business! If one truly wants to know Organization Business then one needs to GO OUT AND DO WHAT IT TAKES TO BECOME A MEMBER! Until then, one needs to appreciate the information one has received thus this far (because come on all non-members, deep in your hearts, you know what you shouldn't be trying to RESEARCH and what you should be RESEARCHING and we must all admit, learning the words to chants, hymns, poetry, and anything else that is Organizational Business whether you find it on the internet or on someone's bookshelf at home...it's just not respectful)!

If those who are truly interested in any Organization would do what is expected of them...RESEARCH and STUDY what is provided to you by that Organization itself, commit to the betterment of his/her community for SERVICE/SERVANT sake (not to look good on paper), have faith and trust GOD for ONLY that which is for you...you would find life much sweeter then running your mouse-finger to every website that even hinted at Organization Affairs. Spend that same energy developing yourself as a Leader...it'll get you farther then knowing everything and then you find out it's not even CORRECT!

Again, this is my take from WISDOM's face---and believe me, WISDOM speaks...are you listening??? With that all said, I only want BGLO Members to correct me and push me back in line if I am out of line on this one...AKATUDE, AKA2D'91, AKAMonet, tickledpink, Ideal08, Discogoddess, LadyAKA, (and any other Lady of Alpha Kappa Alpha...since this is your forum-board)...push me back in line if my voice was not correct on this one...Buta', on this one (and I don't post on BGLO/business type of threads) I just had to speak my mind....

We non-members...we need to quit being nosy!

As long as it's not private stuff. Remember CD's can be burned and/or uploaded easily.

But hey, you can go to anything with BG people and hear their chants. Shoot, you can read that on skeephi, can't you? As long as the org.'s involved get the profits then do what works for you. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
