The Universe is passing strange . . . Almost an Armed Robbery

At around 5:30 today a man walks into where I work and asks me if I have a paper dollar for four quarters. In between talking to two customers I give him the dollar, he waits a few moments and leaves.

He walks 50 feet down the block walks into another place pulls a hand gun and robs it and the girl there.

I imagine that the fact that I gave him his change before the customers left is the reason he didn't pull the weapon on me.

Had I made him wait till we were alone I would most likely have been robbed . . .

Makes you think about the small chance vagaries of the Universe that can result in a bad thing either happening to you or not.

Such small factors can be the difference between life and death and we may never know what those factors are/were . . .

Just made me think.

The winter of my 8th grade year, my mom and I were driving home in her minivan when an SUV came flying around the curve on our side of the road. I mean, flying...my mom swerved, but the SUV ran off the side of the road and crashed into a tree. I was scared to death. The lady driving the SUV died, and if her car had been inches to the right she would've hit us head on and I probably wouldn't be around now because those minivans back then didn't have much of a front end. I had the same realization as you that night.

This is why in every retail store I've worked in, we've never been able to make change for someone. Sorry buddy, you've got to go somewhere else.

He may have also seen how much cash you had in the drawer and thought it wasnt' worth it.
