question about name

I look at the San Fransico State websites all the time, and the Alpha Phi Chapter there is under "Alpha Phi International Fraterntiy" What exactly does the Internationl mean?

SATX*APhi 01-12-2004 05:36 AM

It means that Alpha Phi not only has chapters in the United States, but in Canada as well, thus making the organization an International Fraternity.

Hope that explains it. :)

Sistermadly 01-12-2004 11:39 AM

Oh Canada... our home and native land... ;)

rayray 01-12-2004 03:20 PM

So is that what Alpha Phi is called everywhere?

Sorry I'm being difficult

SATX*APhi 01-12-2004 05:41 PM

Well, yes, Alpha Phi is an International Fraternity. Although when someone asks what sorority one of my chapter gals belongs to, she usually replies with just "Alpha Phi," it's proper name is Alpha Phi International Fraternity or Alpha Phi Fraternity.

And no, you aren't being difficult. Don't worry about it.

cutiepatootie 01-12-2004 06:06 PM

Yeah she is being difficult! :D nah just kidding.......:D

rayray 01-12-2004 11:54 PM

Ok thanks. Thats what confused me, because my good friend is an Alpha Phi at Berkeley and she never says the international part.
Not to mention when i had looked at SF State website a few months ago it didnt say the Internationl part.

Ok anyway im rambling now
Thanks for clearing that up

By the way cutirpatootie, I'm transfering to SF State in the fall with a huge interest in rushing and you never know Alpha Phi could be the one for me (haha that rhymed)...just giving you a bad time
:D

SATX*APhi 01-13-2004 05:41 AM

Where are you transferring from?

rayray 01-13-2004 03:34 PM

Well I went to Sonoma State but this semester I moved back home and now i'm going to JC to raise my gpa before i go to SF.

<--------- absolutley beaming with pride right now.

Thank god someone looks at that website. rayray I am the original author of the SFSU Alpha Phi website, and I was wondering where you see "Alpha Phi International Fraternity" written out, cuz I don't see it...and was wondering if the new website caretaker added it or anything. Anyway, just curious because the format has pretty much stayed the same since i created the thing like over a year ago.

P.S. I am going to PM you about contact info for Alpha Phi at SFSU...I initiated at that chapter and transferred to chico state in the fall so I know and love all those girls :)

rayray 01-14-2004 05:25 AM

Miss Bubbles thanks for the PM but just to let everyone know it says that on the main greek organization page of SFSU. It use to be just Alpha Phi but not to long ago the international part was added.

Yea I'm just a tad bit excited to go to SFSU so i look at the websites all the time...hehe

AlphaPhiBubbles 01-15-2004 01:36 AM

Ahhh...right. The people at the OSPLD office hate NPC members so I'm surprised they changed that. I can't begin to tell you how many times those poo heads blew me off :(

but anyway...let me know how all of that goes :) :) :)
