Crest Whitestrips/paste
 

Has anyone tried any of the new whitening products that have hit the market recently? I've wanted to try one for awhile but I dont know which is better. Someone told me that they make your teeth very sensitive. Is that true?

I tried the overnight paint-on gel, by Crest or Colgate, but I can't remember which. It didn't make my teeth sensitive, but it didn't really do anything else either (like lighten my teeth). I don't understand how that stuff is supposed to work, when it seems like it would all just wash off when you close your lips over your teeth. Mine even came with instructions to keep my lips away (really big grin so they're not touching the teeth) for 30 seconds after application to let it dry -- really annoying!

I'm thinking about trying the Whitestrips though -- sounds much easier, and no worries about it washing away. Has anyone used those?

I tried the Whitestrips, and yeah, they made my teeth reeeeeeeeally sensitive, to the point where I was drinking my water lukewarm because that's the only way it didn't bother my teeth. I tried them about a year ago, and I still think that my teeth are more sensitive now than they were before... maybe that's just me though. I have a friend who tried them, and they weren't as bad for her.

I have another question...I heard that you can't drink coffee or soda while you're using the strips (not while they're actually in, but just in general) because your teeth are more susceptible to staining.
