well i have been looking up research on working in italy lately bc i have a strong interest in moving there to work and such..

well i was looking online and saw something for a site called jobsabroad.com.. has anyone ever heard anything about this.. and also does anyone know of anyone who has just moved somewhere in europe to work.. i am trying to find out as much info as i can.. thanks..

What kind of job you're looking for? Is this summer deal job, or permanent job post graduation?

It is very highly competitive to find jobs in the EU countries, especially after 2004, when some Eastern European countries will join the Union. Among the countries to join: Turkey, Poland, Hungary, and Czech Republic. All people, skilled and unskilled, will flow to the Western Europe to find job.

And of course they prefer to hire people from their own Union, than people from the US. Sorry, an American doesn't mean anything in here. Most people just love Americans for the money, not the people.

If you decided on which country you want to work at, i.e. Italy, learn the language. Don't expect they will adapt with your English, even though they do speak English.

If you know Italian, I think it would be easier to start from South Italy, where most people have no interest in to work/live. Maybe in Puglia, Abruzzo, Molise, or in Basilicata and Calabria region, instead of Lazio, Veneto, Lombardia. There will be lower in competition, because the regions are poor. Rules of thumb, south of Napoli = poor regions.

Some suggestions: for UK, there is program in most colleges to work and live in the UK for the whole summer. Try to find more info from your study abroad program office.
For anywhere else, try to find some GLO/college alumni/alumnae in your field. Contact him/her personally, and ask whether they can help.
Or maybe contact people from the Embassy in Rome. Not a guarantee they will help out, but give it a shot.
